Tel Aviv Pride Parade Through the Eyes of a First-Time Visitor

Before embarking on my summer abroad in Tel Aviv through Onward Israel, everyone told me to get excited for the city’s biggest festival of the year: Tel Aviv’s Pride Parade.

The festival was this past Friday, and it was just WOW, way more than what I expected.

Complete with parades, block parties, and concerts, the already colorful city of Tel Aviv transformed to one happy rainbowed party.

Now, I’ve been to many festivals before, but I had never been to a pride parade, so I didn’t quite know what to expect, and Tel Aviv Pride Parade certainly is going to be hard be beat!

This is a note to future tel aviv pride visitors, if you want to travel to Tel Aviv for pride, do it! I’ve heard that there is nothing that compares.

What I did the day of:

I started the day on the parade route by Bugrashov Street and continued onto the beach promenade. There were tons of parade floats, loud music, and people clad in rainbow glittery outfits. It was such a happy, carefree atmosphere, and I felt so lucky to be in Israel during this time!

The sun was HOT, so I left for lunch and shade after a few hours of dancing and sweating. The restaurants near the beach were totally packed, but it was still such a welcoming and lively atmosphere, that the wait wasn’t an issue at all.

After lunch, resting and hydrating I couldn’t wait to go back out to feel the pride vibes at the beach, where I expected it to be crowded, but relaxing as usual. When I got to the tel aviv beach, I realized that I was wrong. The beach was packed with people still celebrating! There were excellent vibes all around as people were playing music, tanning, and swimming.

After my long day of activity, I was exhausted, but my heart was full, Tel Aviv’s Pride Parade was checked off of my bucket list, but at the same time, it was added back in to it as well.
