Yom HaMishpacha - Honoring the Family Unit 🇮🇱
Yom HaMishpacha (Hebrew: יום המשפחה) is a day to honor the family unit, as a whole, and its centrality to our lives.
In Israel, instead of having mother’s day and father’s day separately, which for so many could be so painful, we celebrate Family as a whole.
We find this tradition to be magical, to be special and we want to say: Happy Family Day from our small little family to yours, wherever you might be.
A bit of the history behind this tradition:
In the 1990s (so recent!), in the last day of Shevat was declared Family Day in Israel and it was declared in the memory of Henrietta Szold, American-born founder of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America!
