Meet Ariella from Ariella Charny Art
Ariella moved from cool Boston to sunny Tel Aviv in 2014 and has since been weaving the story of her many identities - her Russian heritage, her American upbringing, and her new-found lsraeliness.
Ariella has been drawing since age 4 but on her 30th birthday, decided to take the plunge and make her art a professional endeavor.
Drawing inspiration from people, nature, geometry and movement, Ariella's vibrant artworks grapple with the fragile and delicate balances in life. They are informed by tensions between unity and fragmentation, quiet and noise, real and imagined. Her favorite quote about art is that of Pablo Picasso, when he said that "Art is a lie that makes us realize truth."
Ariella is passionate about using art to raise awareness about sustainability; Aside from acrylic paint and colored pencils, she has been finding innovative ways to use discarded fabric to create sustainable, zero-waste-art. She also donates a portion of the sales from her artwork of endangered animals to conservation efforts.
You can find Ariella in her bright studio in Tel Aviv, or else catching the glorious sunsets over the Mediterranean and longing for her next hummus meal.
